What is a good mirror?

A mirror is an object that reflects light according to the law “the angle of incidence = the angle of reflection”. Most mirrors consist of a glass pane that has a thin layer of reflecting material attached to its back, usually silver or aluminium. For protection purposes, this reflecting layer has been finished with a couple of layers of lacquering.
